What’s up with the Bus & The Why’s Behind taking Our Business on the Road

If you’ve been tuning into our Facebook, Instagram pages, or you’ve been a client for even a brief period of time than you know that my wife and business partner and I bought a bus. Days before Thanksgiving, we took the plunge and drove down to Colorado Springs to purchase what will eventually be our new home and office on wheels. With no experience in having driven a school bus and no clue as to what the 50 buttons next to the driver seat do, even that tiny chapter in this journey was an adventure.

So, what’s up with the bus? Well, in spring of 2019, our Denver, Colorado based operation goes 100% virtual and off the grid! It’s been 15+ years living in sunny beautiful Colorado and while we have loved our time here, we’re ready for a change. Yet, when we tried to decide where we would go next, we really couldn’t come up with one spot that was just perfect. The decision was made to not decide. By making our home and office mobile we can spend time in all the places we love, explore new uncharted territory and when it’s time to move on, we can pack up and get a new view. One of my dreams has been to be able to live and work from my camper (insert bus here) on the beach.

To add to that, our faithful client base is located all over the country and we even have a few clients outside the US. What better way to be of service to our clients than to make office visits? That means we can come to you.

Over the last three years we have purchased campers, and toured RV stores looking for the perfect RV. At the end of it all, we were left disappointed with what we found. While we loved our two vintage trailers, their age made for heavy and sometimes unsafe driving or living conditions. New trailers seem to be poorly built and no floor plan gave us exactly what we were looking for. So, rather than spend lots of money on something that wasn’t what we wanted, we decided to build it ourselves. …enter school bus.

Did you know there is a growing movement of skoolie converters out there? People of all ages are taking to the nomadic lifestyle and they aren’t all millennials.

We have A LOT to learn, but we plan to do as much of the work ourselves as we can. We will learn about how to safely drive a bus with air brakes and how to run electricity and plumbing and we get to play with power tools. What more could you ask for?!

I promise there will be more to come. We hope you pop in each week for our blog on a variety of topics, but if for no other reason, feel free to stop in to laugh with us on this journey!
